Audio Conversion

As files are copied, they can be modified as well, based on the settings in the Download Method.
If audio files are converted, these settings are used:

Recording Format

·     File Format  This is the coding format for the destination file, such as PCM Wave, AAC, Mp2, Mp3 etc.  The drop-down box will show you the  available options.
·     Output Channels  Stereo or Mono output choice.
·     Frequency Shows a list of available sample rates.  Most often the 44100Hz WAV  is the standard, and is CD quality.
·     Encode Format A drop down list of settings for the specific file format. For example, selecting MP3 will display a selection of bit-rates here.
·     Normalize While converting you can normalize audio, ranging from 0db and down. Typical values might be -3db or -6db.
·     Use .WAV extension for .MP2 files If you are encoding to MP2 format, and need the file extension to be .wav instead of .mp2, check this.

If you are downloading WAV files, you can convert them to MP3 to save space, but there will also be a decrease in quality.  Converting an MP3 to a WAV increases the size, but does not return the original quality.
Depending on your automation system, you may need to convert them to WAV anyway.

Cart Chunk Info

·     Edit Curr. Field Macro For files that carry the broadcasting WAV CART CHUNK, this entry allows you to transfer over the entries and/or modify them. By default, a file conversion will carry it over if available, or create a new, blank one if not. In this section you can include text that will be replaced in each of the Cart Chunk fields.

For instance, if you select the “Artist” entry here, and enter something the Value field by clicking "Edit Curr. Field Macro", it will be placed in all Cart Chunks converted, replacing the current entry. If one of these fields is left empty, however, the current Cart Chunk data in any file will be copied over.

Sometimes, however, you wish to combine the fields, for example, to append extra branding to the original cart information. So you can use special macro commands in the Value field to merge data from the current file:

·     {mt:origtext} this entry is replaced with the original entry text from the current file converted. For example, entering this for the Copyright field would append your copyright to the original one of a file (note that Cart Chunk text length restrictions may cut off text if too long).

{mt:origtext}, and additional copyright (c) My Company

·     {mt:now} This inserts the current time, including day, date and time, like so:
