How To Setup Silence Detection

Each recording channel can be monitored for silence

Silence is monitored only during recording

Simply enable silence dection on the Row and press the button to configure

The First settings to enter are the audio levels and error and recovery times

The silence error occurs when the audio level reaches or stays below the entered value in db for the alotted seconds.  So in the example screen above a Silence error occurs when the audio stay at or below -30 db for 60 seconds

Recovery will occur when the audio goes above -30 for 60 continuous seconds

Once a Silence error or recovery from silence occures you can select the functions to execute

The First option is sending an email.  You can enter multiple email addresses by seperating them by a comma

The Repeat every XXX Minutes command will send multiple fialure emails every so many minutes apart to make sure that you are notified of the error, setting the time to 999 minutes will disable the feature and only one email will be sent

The Second Option is to send a serial command, this can be used to send commands to a closure device or even an audio switcher.  In Order to maintain the widest compatibility with all devices the serial command is manually entered, please see your serial hardware manual for the correct serial string.

To configure the correct serial port please see How to Setup a Serial Port Section

The Failure command can also be repeated after so many minutes

The final Option is to launch a program or batch file, you may have written a custom batch file or script that you would like executed on failure and recovery.

Test buttons are available to try the configurable functions to verify the operation before a failure occurs.
